Since 2004, we have been passionately learning about history and collecting little pieces of it -- coins. We are proudly located in Houston, TX. We buy and sell coins of all types and varieties which we sell on our weekly online stream on whatnot.
Our Story
What started as a dream to pursue more active service in ministry became a thriving business in and of itself. Texan Numismatic officially launched in 2025 in and attempt to provide more time to fulfil active ministry roles within our local church. After 10+ years of continuous work in the commercial electrical industry, Justin began a career in construction sales, hydraulic sales, and business finance - all to support what he truly loved the most: teaching the Bible in his local congregation. As more demands to teach were placed on him, Justin began to look for other opportunities to earn an income that allowed him the freedom and opportunity to be flexible in his schedule. One night, by chance, Justin decided to sell a portion of his coin collection to cover job hunting expenses. One thing led to another and today Texan Numismatic is one of the leading sellers on the Whatnot platform.
Meet The Team
Justin Treaster - President
Justin grew up in the small southern Texas town of Port Lavaca, TX. His parents and grandparents always brought him to historical places around Texas where he developed a love for history and anything that was old... Often, Justin would intentionally act out of line in school so that he could be sent to "In-school suspension" just so that he could skip all of the other subjects that he was forced to partake in and spend his entire day reading history books instead. At the age of 13, his grandmother took some coins that belonged to his grandfather and gave them to him where a fascination grew over the bewilderment of being able to own something that was over 200 years old. The rest was history... He quickly added to his knowledge of coins, a growing collection that would span all throughout American history.
At the age of 17, he graduated high school with the intent on joining the United States Marine Corps. Unbeknownst to him, one fateful night would change his life forever. After hearing a preacher on youtube discoursing on Matthew 7:13-24, Justin decided to give his life to Christ, whom he has been serving ever since. Since then, he has traveled to Mexico, Peru, Argentina, India, Tanzania, Burundi, Kenya, Russia, Turkey, Egypt, Iraq, Georgia and Israel, teaching the Bible, raising disciples, and learning more about history. He now lives in Houston, TX with his wife of 11 years and their 4 children, where he teaches at his local church, enjoys riding street bikes, spending time with friends and family, and looking at coins.
